Does Islam teach Blind Faith?

A Christian once mentioned to me, “Islam causes its adherents to blindly accept everything in spite of the overwhelming evidence against it.”

Many people in the world today “blindly follow” a religion because that’s just what they were born and that’s what their family is.  Whether we are Sunni Muslim, Shia Muslim, Catholic Christian, Protestant Christian, Jewish, Mormon, Hindu, etc. this is the case with many people in the world today.

The fact of the matter is Islam makes a challenge to people on why they blindly accept the religion of their fathers.

When it is said to them: “Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger”: They say: “Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following.” What! Even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?   (Qur’an, 5:104)

Nay! They say: “We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we do guide ourselves by their footsteps.”  (Qur’an, 43:22)

Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them said: “We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps.”  (Qur’an, 43:23)

He said: “What! Even if I brought you better guidance than that which ye found your fathers following?” They said: “For us, we deny that ye (prophets) are sent (on a mission at all).”   (Qur’an, 43:24)

I encourage all Non-Muslims to consider the above verses and read The Qur’an completely and understand why it is God’s Word for mankind.

God in The Qur’an affirms His Love for all of His people throughout all times (from Adampbuh all the way up to the 2nd Coming of Christpbuh) through His prophets that were sent to all nations.

Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past).  (Qur’an, 35:24)

For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), “Serve Allah, and eschew Evil”: of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).   (Qur’an, 16:36)
